La Montaña farm is located in San Marcos de Tarrazú, within the world- wide famous Tarrazú coffee region, southeast of San José. Owner Daniela Gutierrez takes special care of this micro-mill in a land characterized by ultisols soils. La Montaña Farm is part of the NAMA Coffee Project, an effort to reduce carbon emissions and increase cost efficient technologies in coffee mills.

This specialty coffee has a medium body, medium citric acidity, with a chocolate and brown sugar fragrance, and soft, sweet flavor like nuts and sweet spices

Score according to Quality Classification of the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA): 85

A coffee with a cupping score above 80 is considered a Specialty Coffee.

Roast recommendation for:

  • brewed, french press: medium to medium dark.
  • espresso or moka: medium dark
